Over the past few years, a significant revitalization project has been happening in downtown St. Joseph. From adding a concessions area and bathrooms near Felix Square to the opening (and expansion) of eatery Felix Street Gourmet, the downtown area is constantly growing, changing, and welcoming new businesses. Here’s more about all the new stores and experiences in downtown St. Joseph.
The latest shop to open downtown is Blue Willow Boutique. Located on the corner of Felix and 8th Streets, Blue Willow Boutique is a women’s clothing store with casual, comfortable, stylish pieces for women of all sizes.
At Blue Willow Boutique, “We believe in connections. It is through our connections to people, places, and planet that we create true beauty. And we know that beauty is not a size – it’s the spirit within our souls. This is style for real women.”
For additional nearby clothing shopping, check out Mod Podge Boutique & Design Studio and Lucky Tiger. However, if you’re searching for home items and decor, check out Manic Snail, Nesting Goods, and Bee and Thistle.
In late spring 2020, St. Joseph will welcome its newest brewery—Angry Swede Brewing. Located at 513 Francis St. (the stunning previous location of the Cuban restaurant 1785), Angry Swede Brewing plans to offer a microbrewery with a taproom upstairs and a lounge with wine and mixed drinks in the basement.
If, however, you’re ready for a good drink now; check out the Tiger’s Den or head up Frederick to River Bluff Brewing. These two favorite watering holes will surely help you bide the time until Angry Swede Opens.
For those who aren’t interested in alcohol, downtown St. Joseph has plenty of options. Try Simply Tea, Cafe Pony Espresso, or Mokaska Coffee Company (where they roast their own beans).
