A wedding is one of the most significant events in a person's life and choosing the right venue is essential to making it unforgettable. This event venue is a converted hay barn that was originally built back in 1905 by the Hunt family. In 2017, the Wilt family renovated and transformed it into the stunning Timber Ridge Event Center. Fast forward to November 2021, and the property was acquired by the proud new owners, Kim and Travis Lawson. Since taking over, the Lawsons have been pouring their hearts and souls into making Timber Ridge the perfect place for any event. They've made significant renovations to the porch area and established Timber Lane, an on-site décor spot that offers everything from candles to tablecloths to flowers to signs and furniture to add elegant details to your event.
The large barn sits on 38 acres of rolling hills that offer breathtaking sunset views and the ideal backdrop for capturing stunning wedding party photos. The barn remains in its original condition and retains its original hay rail and doors used to bring in the 10,000 small bales it housed annually. Looking around the large space, you can see the hand-sawn beams, and behind the bar, preserved floorboards are showcased. A large chandelier from the Robidoux Hotel hangs above the bar as a gorgeous centerpiece. An antique cash register also from the Robidoux Hotel sits behind the bar, proving to be a great conversation starter. The barn includes a large bridal suite with a private bathroom, a groom’s room complete with seating, poker table and a mini fridge, a catering kitchen, a full bar, a large outside seating area, with inside dining and dancing space, and it is handicap accessible. Many updates were made to prepare the barn into Timber Ridge and the owners were sure to use reclaimed wood and materials when available to keep the historical charm.
Kim works part time at Alsara Vein Clinic, while Travis works full time at Albaugh. However, their weekends are spent at Timber Ridge, where they are involved every step of the way, from wedding planning to table setup to event and reception hosting. As proud parents of four, including Ben (8), twins Hazel and Claire (3), and their newest addition, Avery (7 months old), Timber Ridge holds a special place in the Lawson family's hearts. It's more than just a business to them; it's a legacy they hope to pass down to their children, a place where families and friends can come together to celebrate life's biggest moments.
